The survivors lived under the surface of Earth for years. After they crawled up to the light again, the whole world has changed. The most important resource is oil and now a war between the Evolved mutants and the Survivors begins.
The Evolved use mutant animals as units, while the Survivors use their high-tech vehicles. KKND is a real-time strategy game where oil is the primary resource to earn the currency needed to construct buildings and train units. Different buildings can often be upgraded multiple times to unlock new options. How to run this game on modern Windows PC? The graphics are generally good, especially the ground textures.
What is disappointing is the lack of detail in the barracks units. With some of the Evolved units especially, it is difficult to determine what exactly is attacking you.
This is mostly due to the small size of the units and the low video resolution x at which the game runs. The audio is good, although it has some of the same annoying acknowledgements as many of the other RTS games. Some of the voices even sound a lot like those in Warcraft the acknowledgements of the Evolved clan stand out in my mind. Many games seem to take themselves to seriously, especially when it comes to documentation.
