With ease and efficiency in mind, Emma provides free storage space for the images and documents you use in your campaigns. You can use the image library for quick access to images that you use regularly in your campaigns or choose to upload new ones, and the document library allows you to store files that you want recipients to be able to download as an attachment - and both libraries are conveniently housed together.
Your Emma account comes with an image library that stores the images you use in your campaigns with a maximum library limit of 5GB which is huge. Considering the images will be formatted for emails, there is also a 25MB limit on how large each image file can be that you upload.
Because the overall size of your campaigns does make a difference, it is a best practice is to keep your images as small as possible; we recommend images be 1MB or less.
However, you don't have to store images in your library in order to upload them to one of your campaigns. You can upload images directly from your computer, as well as from your connected Facebook or Flickr accounts only for legacy campaigns.
The image library accepts the following file types:. CMYK color values are for print and won't render in an online environment, whereas RGB color values are set for online use. There are a few ways that you can access your image library. The first is from the main Campaigns page, where you can click the Images tab in the lefthand sidebar.
Your image library will pop up and you will see the images you have previously uploaded. If you'd like to add more images, just look for the blue Upload button on the right-hand side of the page.
You can also use the down-pointing arrow to the right of each image file to download it, copy the URL of the image, or delete it. The second way you can access your image library is twofold from an open campaign and depends on the type of editor it was created with, the legacy editor or the drag and drop editor.
From an open legacy campaign, navigate your cursor to an image block and inside the placeholder, click on Select from library. The window that appears is your image library, which by default opens to the Library tab, and you will also see tab options for Facebook and Flickr where you can access the images in those connected accounts.
On the righthand side of the image library is where you will find the blue Upload button to add new images and a Search field that will search your images by file name. You can easily delete or rename an image file by hovering over it in your image library, then clicking either Delete or Rename below the image.
From an open drag and drop legacy campaign, you can access your image library from a new text block by clicking on the Browse button. Optional: Choose the source of your import, how you'd like to handle data being imported for existing contacts, or select the checkbox to trigger workflows based on the data imported. See "Other import options" below. Click Continue. Follow the on-screen instructions to map the contact data in your list to the contact fields in your account.
You can also create new contact fields for the data you're importing. Either create a new group to add your contacts to, or select an existing group, then click Continue. After you've reviewed the Import Summary page, click Import.
Import Summary Overview When you import a file, we automatically generate an Import Summary that lists which groups your contacts were added to, as well as their status including how many contacts were: Added, Updated, Ignored due to duplication, Skipped due to a value error, or Erred as a result of formatting. Here's an overview of the data that you'll see in the Import Summary and a description of each element: Contacts added: How many new contacts were imported.
Contacts updated: Any existing contacts whose contact records were updated. Error rows: Rows skipped because there was a formatting or mapping issue. You can click Download to generate a. However, the option to download the file is only available for 7 days after the import takes place. The error file includes relevant information about the fields that are in error for each contact. Learn more about this here: troubleshooting file import errors.
Duplicate rows: Rows that feature e-mail addresses that have been duplicated on the sheet. These are counted uniquely. For example, if an address is listed 3 times, it will only show as 1 duplicate. Skipped: Contacts on the spreadsheet that did not have an e-mail address populated, which is the unique identifier in Emma and why they were skipped.
Other import options When importing a file, you'll see a couple of options on the file import page, as explained below. Update existing contacts You can use a file import to bulk-update data for existing contacts. There are two options for how to handle the data imported: Update their records: Select this option if you want to update existing contact records with data from your file.
Please note: If you choose "Update their records" and a value is left empty in your imported file, it will overwrite any existing value stored in the contact field. Be sure your file does not contain an en dash — or em dash — in the filename. Hyphens - will work fine. Spreadsheets containing multiple sheets cannot be processed. Make sure the file you're importing only has one sheet.
Only one email address should be entered per cell and all email addresses in your file should be in the same column. Additionally, if you accidentally import duplicate email addresses, they will be deduplicated during the import process. They will instead show up as "Duplicate rows" in your import summary, but this will not cause your import to fail. Spreadsheet formulas and other types of data formatting can conflict with the import process.
If there are formulas or special formatting applied to data that you want to import, reformat those columns to plain text and try importing again.
If there is any data with special formatting that doesn't need to be imported, it's best to exclude those columns. Copy only the columns you need to a new spreadsheet and import that instead. When importing data to contact fields , be aware that some field types require that the data is formatted correctly for a successful import. Skip to Main Content.
