Notice the blank line above, and the leading spaces at least one, but we'll use three here to also align the raw Markdown.

To have a line break without a paragraph, you will need to use two trailing spaces. Note that this line is separate, but within the same paragraph. Code blocks are part of the Markdown spec, but syntax highlighting isn't. However, many renderers -- like Github's and Markdown Here -- support syntax highlighting. I recommend only using the fenced code blocks -- they're easier and only they support syntax highlighting. They are an easy way of adding tables to your email -- a task that would otherwise require copy-pasting from another application. Refer to the demonstration below. You might recognize that the appearance is similar to how GitHub displays Markdown contents. While in Visual Studio Code, to install the Markdown All in One extension, type in this command below in the terminal.

Once the extension is installed, you can export all the Markdown documents in the loaded folder, or just the current Markdown document. As you can see, the design appears a lot different than all the previous ones. For example, the image below shows that the Markdown file is loaded in Typora with the theme Newsprint applied. Then save the file in your preferred location. Which means you need to install them before you can use those tools.

Apart from those, there are online tools available to do the job. Once on the website, you can upload your Markdown file from your computer or other cloud sources like Dropbox and Github. Then, the HTML file will be downloaded to your computer. Here are some that you may want to consider. Some tools are readily accessible online, and some need to be installed locally on your computer.

All these tools have the same goal, but not all of them are created equal — so to speak. It is up to you to find out which one of these tools works best for you.
