Types of files not to download on slsk

Search form Search. Download Folder s. If you search for an album, get results, then right click any track then Download Folder s , it works.

This is very annoying. I have come here asking for the same thing. Please only download the file, not file plus folder unless requesting to download folder like it used to be Oh my god, files downloading into folders is absolutely maddening. Please revert it back to old style or at least give us an option! Everything downloads into one folder and we don't have to spend hours moving files out of useless folders. I agree, having downloaded files sitting in newly created folders is very annoying and inconvenient.

I can't see any use for this function. It also makes it very difficult to compare files length, bitrate, size etc when they are all sitting in seperate folders. This is also why I like the old style search results, so you can sort file results by bitrate. If you added this filter to the new style results then I would use them.

Just my views from using the new client and thanks for your hard work so far. Give me a day or two, I'll post a version that gives you the option of not placing single files in their own folder. Try this one: SoulseekQt I haven't tested it extensively, but it seems to work. I don't like the Complete folder at all.

It is created by Soulseek and unable to be changed by the user. I'd like to get my complete downloads in the folder i chose in the File Sharing tab, not in a nested one called "complete". And about the downloading folder, I'm not sure, maybe is ok, so many comments say. Nice idea. Yes, it could be possible by fetching the md5 once you queue or after the download or even when the download starts, or perhaps give a standalone right-click button [Verify files] or [Fetch md5].

I assume this things would eat a lot of memory, even cripple your slsk. I think a right-click would be the best options I've been using Soulseek in its various iterations for many years now, and corrupted files have never been an issue for me or the hundreds of people that I've spoken to on here.

Any time that I've come across users with Soulseek issues like yours, the problem has always been due to local hardware or software failings. I think that you'll find the answer to your file corruptions via one of the above, though you might also want to try temporarily disabling your antivirus software, as Soulseek has a long history of not getting on well with various antivirus products.

If this makes a difference, and your antivirus permits you to set file exclusions, try setting it to not scan files with. I wouldn't exclude scanning executable files, however, though you rarely see. I believe that is not the case. Nir does code the program but im sure its NOT his fault. I also encountered files with errors though I also can't say what the reason is bad source, transfer error etc.
